HIBO Fishery Cooperative Network
The HIBO Fishery cooperative network hereinafter called (HIBO) is a local fishery network which represents coastal zone of south and southern Somalia, and contains 10 cooperatives from Eyl to Barawe.
As result of fact Somali fishing cooperatives are struggling on how to develop themselves through cooperating each other but the role of donors are still missed except a rare investment from FAO attended for small fisheries in our network, although not enough.
Since the establishment of HIBO network was succeed in connecting all south and southern zone small fisheries to have cooperatives and HIBO encourages how to be sustainable cooperative depending on their skills,
HIBO had established on cooperating with Ministry of Fishery and FAO to develop small fisheries.

The Challenges to Fishery Scientists Fishery problems are increasing as worldwide catches approach or exceed maximum sustainable levels, as waters are used for many purposes, and as more aquaculture becomes feasible.
In Somalia now days alleged reason for parasite exist in the region interrupt the activities of small fisheries although some of fisheries stopped their work for above reasons.
HIBO had organized by former fishery experts of Somalia in 1994, The Somalis have traditionally engaged in old fission of fishing as to train the young generation of the fisheries .
